Communicable disease rates are high in Chad due to the lack of latrines, resulting in the common practice of defecating in open areas. The rainy season causes other health issues from this problem. ADRA has been working in Chad for many years and believes that an education program on the hazards is the first step to solving this problem. In addition, families will be trained in the construction and care of their own latrine. Together, we can be a blessing to families and their environment!
